HDTV Ratings: Taken vs Criminal Minds, Pirates vs Simpsons and Mary

TV One’s HD crime hit, Criminal Minds, faced tough competition last night from TV3’s free-to-air HD premiere of Taken.

While the former fended off the latter with its target audience, 25-54 year-olds – 13.1% vs 11% — with 18-49 year-olds, Taken came out on top: 10.5% vs 10.3% (although TV2’s SD movie, Sweet Home Alabama, won the slot).

TV2 also won Sunday night with its free-to-air HD premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

It averaged 9.9% of 18-49 year-olds, compared with TV3’s 7.5% for The Simpsons Movie and 6.5% for There’s Something About Mary, both of which were in HD.

With 25-54 year-olds, Pirates averaged 10.5%, Simpsons 7.2% and Mary 6.1%.

TV One’s HD re-run of Bloodlines was watched by 7% of 25-54 year-olds and 5.8% of 18-49 year-olds.
