Heroes S4 Gets US Date But Still No NZ ETA for S3

Amazon.com is taking orders for season four of Heroes on Blu-ray but the show’s NZ distributor still can’t confirm a release date for season three.

One NZ website has reported S3 will be out on June 2, which would tie in with the show reaching the end of its C4 run, but Universal Pictures NZ has still to officially confirm this or any other date.

S3 was meant to go on sale here in September but was put on hold after TV3 objected to it being released ahead of its broadcast run.

At that stage the network had pulled S3 midway because of faltering ratings and was still dithering over where to schedule it, the upshot being Monday nights on C4.

Fans who have already bought the Blu-ray from Amazon – all Universal releases are region-free – can pre-order S4 for $US60 for delivery from July 27.

Even if Heroes S3 doesn’t make it on to Universal’s June schedule, the distributor has other top titles on Blu-ray to look forward to, including The Wolfman (June 10), Up in the Air (June 17) and Shutter Island (June 22).
