Hot Off the Press Release: New Kids’ Show for Three
The latest in an amped-up line-up of children’s shows sparked by the CORVID-19 pandemic will launch Wednesday on Three.
Here’s the media release:
BRAND NEW KIWI KIDS SHOW AMPED KICKS OFF THIS WEEK ON THREE
Made especially for ‘lockdown’, MediaWorks and Meridian have come together to fast track a daily children’s television show hosted by former children’s show presenter and Dancing With the Stars NZalumni Walter Neilands.
Amped kicks off on April 8th and will broadcast daily at 11.30am, just in time to curb kids’ pre-lunch hangry moments. The best part about it? It’s made by Kiwis, for Kiwis, and will be totally up to date with what is happening in NZ – right here right now.
With eight years’ experience hosting Three’s Sticky TV, Walter Neilands will present the show from his very own bubble and episodes will feature a continual mix of well known and loved New Zealand entertainers such as, science extraordinaire Nanogirl, Mai FM’s K-Lee, motivator Brown Buttabean, cooking tips from acclaimed chef Sid Sahrawat (and his kids) and The AM Show’s Aziz and his dog Yoko – just to name a few. Amped brings fun, learning, experimenting, laughs, challenges, jokes, survival skills and more to your screen every single day!
Meridian CMO Michael Healy said, “As a power company we know a thing or two about harnessing renewable energy.
“In our work with KidsCan, we’ve seen how important it is for kids to turn their energy into play – so we wanted to create something that will give Kiwi kids a way to burn off some of their mental and physical voltage – and let parents recover a bit of theirs.
“We’re stoked that the amazing team at MediaWorks were able to make this happen!”
MediaWorks Director of Content – TV, Ben Quinn said, “It’s no secret that lockdown with kids can be a challenge.
“I’m so proud that we have been able to work so closely with Meridian to turn this show around for Kiwi kids in lockdown.
“Children can look forward to a daily ‘switch on’ and parents will hopefully be able to catch a break with a cuppa and have a moment to switch off.”
With schools closed and many parents facing job uncertainty, Meridian is also helping KidsCan ensure children in need stay fed. Kidscan is needed more than ever in lockdown – so if you’re in a position to help support children during lockdown, please see the Meridian website or click here here.
Amped premieres on Wednesday April 8th and will continue every weekday from 11.30-12.00pm on Three (except Good Friday). Amped will also be available 24/7 on Threenow. A dedicated fan website is being set up and will be live from April 8th at www.threenow.co.nz/amped
