Indira Stewart will join TVNZ 1’s Breakfast team as the show’s new newsreader from late next month.

Indira Stewart appointed TVNZ Breakfast newsreader
TVNZ today announced that Indira Stewart will join Breakfast as the show’s newsreader.
Indira takes up the position vacated by Jenny-May Clarkson who moved into the lead presenter role alongside John Campbell in August.
No stranger to early mornings, Indira currently hosts RNZ’s news and current affairs programme First Up and brings with her a wealth of experience as a newsreader and journalist at RNZ Pacific, and ABC Melbourne.
Indira says: “I’m thrilled to be joining TVNZ and the Breakfast team. I’m excited about this next step in my career and it’s a privilege to be able to share the most important news stories of the day with the Breakfast viewers. I’m looking forward to joining the awesome team of Jenny-May, John and Matty at the desk next month, we’re going to have a lot of fun.”

Indira will join Jenny-May Clarkson, John Campbell and Matt McLean on air from late October, TVNZ 1.
Following Jenny-May’s move into the presenting chair, Chris Chang also takes up the permanent position of 1 News Midday presenter.
