Hot Off the Press Release: Paul Henry Returns to Three

Heeee’s baaaack …

Here’s the media release:

PAUL HENRY TO HOST NEW SHOW ON THREE, STARTING NEXT WEEK

MediaWorks is excited that Paul Henry will be making his return to New Zealand TV screens on its brand new news and current affairs programme Rebuilding Paradise with Paul Henry.

Rebuilding Paradise with Paul Henry will be a positive yet hard hitting show, aimed at finding the truth about where we are as a nation as we come out of lockdown and what possibilities lie ahead for us in the future.

The show will be a 4 week series focusing on how New Zealand can rebuild following the lockdown and what we can expect our future to look like. It will air for 30 minutes, four nights a week at 9.30pm on Three.

Henry will conduct interviews remotely and in studio (when alert levels allow) and will cover a range of issues the country is facing.

The show will cover a wide range of topics such as business, global impacts on our country, moral conundrums, health, changes to human behaviour and what the future might look like.

Paul Henry said: “This show is about something very important, rebuilding paradise.  The pandemic has been bloody awful, but it’s handed us an extraordinary opportunity and it’s an opportunity we’ve proved we’re up for.  In a few years, I want us to be a country that looks back and says that was a shitty time, but look how well things turned out.

“The glass is half full.  We have a fantastic foundation in New Zealand on which we can work together and build a brilliant future.  What do we want New Zealand to look like in six months? In 12 months? We get to decide. What a privilege!”

Director of News, Sarah Bristow said: “We are very excited to have Paul back on Three and back in the Newshub newsroom.  With Paul’s talent, experience and wit we can have positive discussions about our future and how we can all contribute to it. This show is going to provide Kiwis with a fantastic new way of thinking about what’s to come.”

Rebuilding Paradise with Paul Henry premieres on Monday 20th April at 9.30pm on Three.

  1. I was thinking the other day that TVNZ was doing great stuff – Les Mills fitness classes, Nadia’s Comfort Kitchen – extended kids content, with not a lot different from Three (aside from the new kids show Amped, I guess). Then Mediaworks pulls Paul Henry out of retirement! Looking forward to this.

  2. Yes, Kevin, at his best Henry makes for brilliant TV. He’s funny, incisive and fearless.
