House Rules NZ Improvement

Three’s House Rules NZ bounced back in the overnight ratings on Monday, when it out-rated TVNZ 2’s Taskmaster in the key 25-54 demographic.

It averaged 67,620 viewers (3.30 rating/18.41 share), which was twice as many as Sunday’s season premiere (32,127, 1.57 rating/7.24 share) — and comparable to the penultimate episode of The Traitors NZ the previous Monday.

Taskmaster averaged a competitive 64,914 viewers (3.16 rating/17.16 share) but neither series could touch TVNZ 1’s Fair Go (99,322 viewers, 4.84 rating/26.6 share) or Border Patrol (93,750, 4.57 rating/26.92 share).

It helped that HRNZ had a stronger lead-in than Sunday’s Bondi Rescue, with The Project averaging 87,237 viewers (4.25 rating/22.0 share), despite losing to both TVNZ 1’s Seven Sharp (105,586, 5.14 rating/26.39 share) and TVNZ 2’s Shortland Street (93,875, 4.57 rating/22.62 share).

Three’s Far North averaged 39,946 viewers (1.95 rating/13.06 share), which was 5,000 more week-on-week, to beat TVNZ 2’s Fire Country (33,229, 1.62 rating/11.09 share).

However, TVNZ 1’s Origins easily led both, with 73,596 viewers (3.59 rating/24.14 share).

The network’s 9.30 repeat of No Maori Allowed (34,088, 1.66 rating/17.89 share) crushed Three’s Muru stablemate Into the Valley and TVNZ 2’s Mega Mansion Hunters.

TVNZ 1 delivered a peak demo share of 32.97, Three 18.74 and TVNZ 2, 13.66.
