Island Shipshape, Wax Wanes
Three’s Million Dollar Island rebounded on Monday to nearly double the 25-54 viewership of its previous broadcast.
It reeled in 68,749 adults aged 25-54, 30,000 more than episode two.
The romantic castaways averaged a 3.35 rating/19.83 share, roughly the same as TVNZ 2’s MasterChef Australia (3.35 rating/17.21 share).
Neither was a match for TVNZ 1’s Fair Go (89,677 viewers) and Border Security (75,633).
But their lead-out, Ruby Wax Castaway, shed up to two-thirds of this audience, averaging nearly 31,000 viewers for a 1.50 rating/10.83 share — well down on last week’s premiere.
TVNZ 2’s The Rookie won the 8.30 hour, with 55,767 viewers (2.71 rating/17.40 share) while half-an-hour later Three’s 9-1-1 drew 32,070 (1.56 rating/15.19 share).
The night’s most-watched programmes in the 25-54 demo were: 1 News, The Chase (5.30), Seven Sharp, Fair Go, Shortland Street, Newshub Live at 6pm, Border Security, The Project, Million Dollar Island and MasterChef Australia.
