Junior Taskmaster Not Up to Task

The first casualty of TVNZ 2’s new season, Junior Taskmaster, is having its 7.00 Thursday run cut short.

The Taskmaster spin-off starring Kiwi Rose Matafeo will end tomorrow with episode four of eight, presumably due to low ratings.

The network originally planned to dump it on March 20 but today opted to drop the axe a week earlier.

No word on when the rest of the series will air but chances are it will play out on TVNZ+.

Replacing it from March 13 is S15 of Booze Patrol (from E4) and the 7.30 premiere of S4 of Emergency.

TVNZ 2 also is pre-empting Saturday’s Love Triangle UK and the movie High Note to re-run the first three episodes of new Monday night hospital drama Doc (from 10.05) — presumably to improve sampling, even though the series can be streamed on TVNZ+.
