Justified Justifies Fast Tracking

The Justified sequel will stream on Disney+ the same time as it rolls out on FX in the US.

Often there’s a gap between US and NZ windows on Disney+, such as the month-long gap for season two of The Bear.

But Timothy Olyphant’s return as U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens will be fast-tracked to stream weekly from July 18, which is when it will screen in the US.

Justified: City Primeval opens with the Kentucky lawman now living in Miami as a “walking anachronism” balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 15-year-old girl (played by Olyphant’s actual daughter, Vivian). Reads the blurb:

His hair is greyer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind. A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again. Mansell’s lawyer, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client, even as she finds herself caught in between cop and criminal, with her own game afoot as well. These three characters set out on a collision course in classic Elmore Leonard fashion, to see who makes it out of the City Primeval alive.

The eight-part series is the first time Olyphant’s played Rivens since the original Justified ended its run in 2015.

Even if you’ve revisited the first six seasons on Disney+, here’s everything else you need to know about Primeval City and the prospect of more happy trails.

I think Disney are going to release Hulu shows and movies on Disney+ at the same time from now on 🤔

  2. That can’t be the case, Trevor, given the delay to The Bear.

  3. You guys should check out Class of ’09 on Disney+, it’s so good. I love how it’s set in the past, present and future. It’s so intriguing 😍
