Kiwis’ Top Movies on Blu-ray

More than 10,000 Kiwis have voted The Shawkshank Redemption as their favourite movie of all time in a poll run by Video Ezy and Flicks.co.nz.

The 1994 release is out on a special edition Blu-ray while being released on the format next month is New Zealanders’ second most popular movie, Avatar.

In third place is another recent Blu-ray release, Pulp Fiction.

The worst movie polled, Battlefield Earth, isn’t yet on Blu-ray but several movies that ran it a close second are, including Batman and Robin, Black Sheep and the soon-to-be-released Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.

The most popular NZ movie, Once Were Warriors, has just been re-issued on Blu-ray while the runner-up, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, comes out next month.
