Latest Traitors Delayed on Three

The latest take on the Emmy-winning Traitors US won’t screen on Three for another month or so.

The Traitors: New Blood was to have launched on the network the same time it streams on ThreeNow.

But distribution snags mean it will now be exclusive to ThreeNow from tomorrow.

The linear delay stops Three from being able to cash in on Traitors US’ rising popularity.

Season four on Peacock was the most popular yet and following its seven wins at this year’s Emmy Awards, Variety reports the show has just been renewed for three more seasons.

That’s on top of S5, which premieres next year.

Its latest Emmys wins included outstanding reality competition programme and outstanding host for a reality or reality competition programme, marking host Alan Cummings’ third consecutive win.

New Blood expands the franchise by featuring civilians instead of celebrities and, for the first time, will screen on NBC ahead of Peacock. Per USA Today:

The 22 competitors were hand-selected from over 80,000 applicants, NBC said in a press release. They will usher in a new era for the U.S. version of the franchise, which has only featured celebrity contestants in the four seasons currently streaming on Peacock.
