Lomas Breaks Dad’s Grip

Three stalwart David Lomas Investigates continued its hold over one of NZ TV’s most popular personalities on Wednesday.

It averaged 81,589 viewers in the critical 25-54 demographic (3.98 rating/22.23).

Even though this was down nearly 17,000 viewers week-on week, the lost-and-found hit still won the 7.30 hour.

Its chief rival, TVNZ 1’s Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad, fared better week-on-week because it was a double-episode, lifting its viewership by 16,000+ to 76,682.

TVNZ 2’s Hunted Australia was a long way behind, with 51,542 adults (2.51 rating/14.64 share).

But the network’s 8.30 re-run of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (60,473 viewers, 2.95 rating/18.92 share) topped Three’s Love or List It Australia (52,258, 2.55 rating/16.58 share) and TVNZ 1’s Location Location Location (38.075, 1.86 rating/13.33 share).

Three’s Newshub Late won its 9.30 slot with 36,174 viewers (1.76 rating/16.77 share).

The night’s most-watched shows in this 25-54 stakes were 1 News, The Chase (5.30), Newshub Live at 6pm, Seven Sharp and Shortland Street.

TVNZ 1 won the night with a peak demo share of 27.78 vs 23.03 for Three and 17.59 for TVNZ 2.

Thursday’s best-of 7 Days compilation averaged 53,112 viewers (2.59 rating/16.89 share) to finish behind The Great Australian Bake-Off (65,882, 3.21 rating/21.13 share) but ahead of TVNZ 2’s Hunted Australia (39.393, 1.92 rating/12.61 share).
