Married at First Sight Unmatched

Married at First Sight Australia continues to prove unbeatable for Three.

Monday’s episode averaged a 29.9 share of the network’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds (or 93,180 viewers), vs 24.4 for TVNZ 1’s Fair Go (82,177) and 18.3 for its lead-out Highway Cops (57,063).

TVNZ 2’s Travel Guides (Australia) finished third for the 7.30 hour with a 17.6 share (57,403).

In the 18-49 stakes, Three’s share was the same vs 14.6 for Travel Guides, 26.7 for Fair Go and 19.4 for Highway Cops.

MAFS’ popularity and 90-minute length helped lead-out The Rookie to dominate in both core commercial demographics while at 8.30 TVNZ 1’s Code 1:  Minute by Minute easily led TVNZ 2’s Fire Country in each.

But The Rookie’s second half couldn’t top TVNZ 1’s 9.30 crowdpleaser Here Come the Gypsies, although it still led TVNZ 2’s So Help Me Todd in the key demos.

Earlier, 1 News at 6pm had double the 25-54 share of Newshub Live while Three’s The Project edged out TVNZ 2’s Shortland Street to trail TVNZ 1’s Seven Sharp.

Prime’s 8.30 movie The Last Stand posted a 4.0 share of 25-54s and Whakaata Māori’s 7.30 series on indigenous architecture, The Drawing Board, 0.0.

Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.

Winning the 25-54 demos for MAFS on Three would been happier but how well does it perform on 5+, Philip?

  2. MAFS’ 5+ share was 19.3 vs 39.8 for Fair Go, 30.3 for Highway Cops and 13.2 for Travel Guides, Sheldon.
