Match Fit Right Fit With House Fit?
Tonight Three will take the first step towards sorting out its house on Wednesdays by launching season two of men’s health series Match Fit two weeks ahead of the premiere of Sort Your Life Out NZ.
S2 of Match Fit is dedicated to Inga Tuigamala, one of the season’s new competitors who died weeks after filming was completed.
Three will use Match Fit as the anchor for a two-hour Kiwi factual block in a bid to reverse its woeful Wednesday ratings. Next week Newshub Talks: Booze will air at 8.30 and thereafter Sort Your Life Out NZ.
The former is a panel debate special for Gower On: Booze, which will air 24 hours earlier; the latter is a local version of the UK decluttering format.
Here’s the media release:
CLUTTER BE GONE! SORT YOUR LIFE OUT NZ IS COMING TO THREE
It’s the reality format that took the UK by storm and Warner Bros. Discovery is now delighted to bring Sort Your Life Out NZ to Three and ThreeNow, premiering at 8:30 pm on Wednesday 22 June.
Eight New Zealand families whose homes have become overwhelmed with possessions, will put the job of clearing and organising their space into the hands of a team of experts.
Leading the charge to curb the clutter is Three’s Kanoa Lloyd. Kanoa is joined by organisational expert Natalie Jane and builder Sean Brown as they prepare to empty, sort and organise the families’ homes. This terrific tidy trio will lay out the entire contents of each family’s home in a huge warehouse to help them decide what to keep and what to let go of.
The challenge is to either recycle, donate or sell 50 per cent of their belongings. Once done our experts will arrange their new clutter-free home chock-full of thoughtful storage solutions and life-changing organisational hacks.
Kanoa says she’s a bit of a ‘clutterer’ herself so she’s bringing the vibes and moral support to the team: “I’m super sentimental about books, pottery, and old birthday cards, I really struggle to get rid of those things.
“We’ve seen people shaking with nerves because we’re making them walk into their cluttered garage that they’ve been avoiding for years. To see them after we’ve finished, it’s really special.”
Natalie has worked as an organisational consultant for more than eight years and is a member of the Institute of Professional Organisers (IOPO). A former ballerina, schoolteacher, restaurant and retail manager, she admits all her career moves have one thing in common – they all require order!
“I love organising and I love people. Mix that with empathy and a whole lot of fun and that’s me. Kanoa, Sean and I each have our own definitive roles and our personalities work well together – we each bring our own style and flavour.”
Sean is a Licensed Building Practitioner who was trained by his father and has been building for 15 years. He combines old-school values with fresh ideas and his personal passion is family home renovations, in particular he loves finding storage solutions for busy families and upscaling their precious possessions.
“I love having an impact on the way people live at home. This is a feel-good show, it is real people, facing real challenges, and there is a strong sense of joy watching their journey towards the start of a more organised life.”
Warner Bros. Discovery Senior Director of Production ANZ, Vicki Keogh is excited that Three & ThreeNow are able to bring this UK smash-hit format to New Zealand: “It seems we are so busy these days and we all would like our homes and lives better organised.
“Sort Your Life Out was an overnight hit with UK audiences and we think Kiwis will find Kanoa and her team’s transformations of cluttered homes inspiring and uplifting and will hopefully give them confidence and great tips on how to sort their life out!”
