More Bark Than Bite
TVNZ 1’s cute critters combo was the weak link in the network’s ratings chain on Tuesday.
SPCA Rescue’s share of the network’s core commercial audience, 25-54 year-olds, was 15.8 (52,600 viewers) and Barkley Manor’s, 10.2 (34,025).
These were down sharply on lead-in Seven Sharp’s 29.4 share (83,225) and significantly lower than lead-out Mt Hutt Rescue’s 20.2 (51,864).
Moreover, TVNZ 2’s Travel Guides posted a 17.5 share (58.425) for the 7.30 hour while Three’s Married at First Sight Australia dwarfed the competition with 31.0 (98,350).
Travel Guides steadily increased its share over the hour whereas MAFS’s slipped to 26.3 during SPCA before rebounding to 31.5 near the tail end of Barkley.
Mt Hutt Rescue’s 25-54 appeal exceeded that of CSI: Vegas on TVNZ 2 (15.0), and both out-rated Three’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test (13.7).
Although the latter was competitive with TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street (13.2), TVNZ 2’s Police Strike Force led the 9.30 hour with a 15.7 share.
Prime’s 8.30 drama Five Bedrooms delivered a much smaller share of this demo (1.8) than its lead-out, House of the Dragon (4.6).
The night’s 18-49 shares followed a similar pattern but Special Forces easily topped Coro St in this demo.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
