More Murders in August

Disney+ will premiere season three of Only Murders in the Building on August 8.

The comedic murder-mystery series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as residents of a New York City apartment complex who are obsessed with true crime.

Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd will be new to S3 but details about the plot are scarce, with Disney+ providing only the standard synopsis:

When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.

As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another.

Soon, the endangered trio comes to realise a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.

Although Disney+ has just officially confirmed the premiere date, Martin revealed it last month on his “You Won’t Believe What They Look Like Today!” tour with Short.

Reported Variety: “At one point, Martin stated, ‘Catch the new season August 8,’ which was followed by Short responding, ‘Our show is like Steve trying to pee — it streams for 33 minutes.’”
