More Off the Grid on the Way

Season two of Off the Grid with Colin and Manu has started filming in the far south, including locations in Invercargill, Te Anau, Dusky Sound, Middlemarch and Dunedin.

Here’s the media release:

COLIN AND MANU EMBARK ON THEIR NEXT KIWI ADVENTURE

Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel are back, travelling the length and breadth of New Zealand as filming is now underway for the highly anticipated second season of their hit series, Off the Grid with Colin and Manu.

The celebrity chefs are once again immersing themselves in local communities, sampling regional produce, and discovering hidden culinary gems, this time set against the breathtaking landscapes of the South Island and soon to venture north early next year.

“Watch out New Zealand … we’re back!” enthuses Colin. “We are going to some more stunning places, to meet some more incredible Kiwis, and cook some more delicious food … and potentially more occasional disagreements with my French friend!”

Season 1 captured the hearts of New Zealanders, reaching 1.44 million viewers and averaging over 390,000 viewers per episode during its run on TVNZ 1.

Since its launch in April, the show has reached over 237,250 accounts on TVNZ+ and sits firmly in the Top 20 highest performing titles for 2025, boasting more than 814,000 streams to date.

TVNZ’s Chief News & Content Officer Nadia Tolich says, “We are absolutely thrilled Kiwis have embraced Colin and Manu’s infectious energy and genuine love for exploring our backyard.

“It is wonderful to see audiences connecting with the heart, humour, and local flavour of the series.”

Next season, viewers will join the besties on their banter-filled adventures through spectacular locations such as Invercargill, Te Anau, Dusky Sound in Fiordland National Park, Middlemarch, Dunedin, Moeraki, East Coast, Northland, Ruapehu, and more.

“I love coming to New Zealand and I still want to retire here,” says Manu. “Season 2 is going to be bigger and better, and we are so excited to get amongst it.

“To add to the excitement, our beloved caravan Betty has had a wee makeover!”

Food has always been Colin and Manu’s vehicle to connection and conversation and there is no better way to get to know someone – somewhere – than by sharing a meal, so Colin and Manu’s passion for Aotearoa shows no signs of slowing down.

Audiences can look forward to the return of Off the Grid with Colin and Manu on TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+ in 2026.
