Zombies abound next month on The Zone, with Cinema Z premieres of Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies, Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead and Nazis at the Centre of the Earth.

They will be double-billed with re-runs of Zombie Night, Rise of the Zombies, Zombie Apocalypse, The Zombinator and The Land That Time Forgot.

And among the series getting “encore” presentations next month are seasons one of In the Flesh and Ash vs Evil Dead.

The pick of the premieres is Dead Snow 2, which Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ Tommy Wirkola directed.

“As bad-taste splatter comedies go, Dead Snow 2 is one of the more charitably nutty ones,” argued the Los Angeles Times, “less about gorging on gore than reveling in how silly the whole genre can be.”

The Hollywood Reporter said it rolls cartoon violence and action, gore and humour “into one schlocky but enjoyable package” while Variety thought it “high-spirited but hobbled by lame dialogue and sheer overkill”.

Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies is an Aysulm mockbuster parody of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter that preceded the latter’s release in 2012.

Critics weren’t kind, although Blu-ray.com said, “From a technical perspective, the movie bests The Asylum’s finest efforts in nearly every area.”

Ghost Storm are Titanic II are July’s other Cinema Z premieres.
