My Sky HDi … Movies Greats in November

Next month Julia Roberts fans will be able to see her first Oscar-nominated performance in HD for the first time.

Steel Magnolias, which she made the year before her second Oscar-nod, for 1990’s Pretty Woman, is one of three Roberts movies making their Sky Movies Greats debuts in November.

The others are the Pretty Woman sequel of sorts, The Runaway Bride, which reunited her with Richard Gere and director Garry Marshall, and the Prime of Miss Jean Brodie wannabe, Mona Lisa Smile.

Meanwhile, Steel Magnolias’ Sally Field also can be seen in the HD bow of Say It Isn’t So while among the month’s more male-skewed premieres are Hellboy, the first two Fast and the Furious movies, and Snatch.

But November’s undoubted highlighted is Capote, the first of two movies that were made about In Cold Blood author, Truman Capote (the second was Infamous).

Screening in order of appearance will be:

Hellboy (November 2), The Fast and the Furious (November 5), Steel Magnolias (November 6), Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (November 8), Capote (November 9), Snatch (November 11), 2 Fast, 2 Furious (November 12), In the Life of Fire (November 17), Double Jeopardy (November 18), Runaway Bride (November 20), Constantine (November 25), Cellular (November 26), Mona Lisa Smile (November 27), and Say It Isn’t So (November 29).
