My Sky HDi … Movies in August

Of all of next month’s HD movie premieres, The Social Network most deserves to take up your My Sky HDi space.

It will cap a rather lacklustre month for Sky Movies HD debuts, unless you have a bent for overblown bombs (Knight and Day), direct-to-disc sequels (St Trinians 2), try-hard obscurities (The Joneses) or dopey comedies (Killers, The Other Guys).

Prospects are brighter on sister channel Sky Movies Greats, which will roll out in HD for the first time Sideways, Space Cowboys, Training Day and Batman Begins.

In order of appearance will be:

Sky Movies — Holiday Engagement (August 1), Knight and Day (August 7), Charlie St Cloud (August 10), St Trinians 2 (August 13), The Other Guys (August 14), The Joneses (August 17), Takers (August 21), You Again (August 24), The Social Network (August 28) and Killers (August 31).

Sky Movie Greats – Casanova (August 1), Sideways (August 3), Anger Management (August 7), Space Cowboys (August 8), I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (August 12), Knocked Up (August 13), Training Day (August 17), Love Actually (August 21) and Batman Begins (August 31).
