My Sky HDi … Movies in April

With the prospect of the first three Shrek movies being released here on Blu-ray still seeming far, far away, fans of the jolly green ogre will be delighted to see his first two movies debut in HD next month on Sky.

Shrek and Shrek 2 will air April 15 and 16 on Sky Movies Greats, which also will premiere two other fantasy favourites in HD: Edward Scissorhands (April 2) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (April 30).

The star of both those movies, Johnny Depp, also can be seen in Sky Movies Greats’ HD premiere of Donnie Brasco, on April 9.

Also being dusted off in HD for the first time on Sky Movies Greats will be: The Dukes of Hazzard (April 1), Monster in Law (April 3), The Aviator (April 17), Smokin’ Aces (April 24) and Alien vs Predator (April 29).

Debuting in HD on sister channel Sky Movies will be: Robin Hood (April 3), The Last Song (April 6), Law Abiding Citizen (April 10), Love Happens (April 13), Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and Date Night (April 17), Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief (April 20), Tooth Fairy (April 23), Valentine’s Day and Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (April 24), and Youth In Revolt (April 27).
