My Sky HDi … Sky Movies Greats in October

Johnny Depp goes from playing a pirate to creating one next month on Sky Movies Greats.

Making their HD debuts in October will be Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Finding Neverland.

In the latter, he’s cast as the author of Peter Pan, JM Barrie, whereas the former was his third adventure as barmy buccaneer Jack Sparrow (he’s filming his fourth in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).

Other retro HD highlights include arguably Nicolas Cage’s finest film, Lord of War, one of Robert Redford’s best, The Clearing, and a couple of Halloween curtain-raisers: The Grudge and Scary Movie 3.

Screening in order of their HD premieres will be:

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (October 2); Johnny English (October 9); Phone Booth (October 15); Finding Neverland (October 16); The Clearing (October 17); Lord of War (October 22); The Grudge (October 23); Seabiscuit (October 25); The Hot Chick (October 29); Scary Movie 3 (October 23).
