Narrow Win for Fans v Faves
Wednesday’s final of TVNZ 2’s Treasure Island Fans v Faves held off Three’s hugely popular Married at First Sight Australia in the overnight ratings — but only just.
While the latter earned a bigger share of 25-54 year-olds for its 90-minute broadcast, FvF had the edge for the hour when the two went head-to-head.
But overall it averaged a 25.4 share vs MAFS’ 27.5.
In the 18-49 race, the gap widened — 23.6 vs 27.9 — because MAFS narrowly led when the two faced off.
TVNZ 1’s Celebrity Lingo averaged a 14.6 share of 25-54s and a 15 share of 18-49s.
MAFS’ spillover popularity helped lead-out Faking It to easily beat TVNZ 1’s Country House Rescue and TVNZ 2’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown in the core demos as well as the shows it overlapped, Coronation Street and Naked Attraction.
The gap between FvF and MAFS earlier in the week was much wider. Tuesday’s broadcast was about 10 share points behind MAFS in the 25-54 demo while Monday’s lagged about seven points.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
