NCIS: Los Angeles DVD Only?

It looks as if season one of NCIS: Los Angeles, which ends with a double-episode tonight (TV3, 8.30pm), won’t be released here on Blu-ray.

The latest dealer information from Paramount Pictures (NZ) lists it as coming out on only DVD, on August 18, along with season six of NCIS.

It’s not yet know if the US Blu-ray will be region-free. Many of Paramount’s Blu-rays are region-free but some of its TV releases, like all three seasons of Dexter, are locked, which means the only way you can view them here is on a region-free player like Oppo’s.

Meanwhile, another of TV3’s HD drawcards, Modern Family, ended its first season last night. It, too, has been announced for Blu-ray release in the US, which probably will be region-locked given it’s a 20th Century Fox title, but at this stage only the DVD has been confirmed for Australasia.
