New Denon Home Theatre System Shipping
In addition to its new range of 3D-ready receivers, Denon is shipping its first 3D-ready home theatre system to Harvey Norman stores.
The 5.1-channel DHT-391 comprises a receiver, five speakers and an active subwoofer for $1,299.
The AVR-391 receiver has four HDMI 1.4a inputs for 3D video pass-through from all mandated 3D formats for movie, broadcast and game content.
Denon also promises a fully discrete, identical power output for all channels of 110W x 5, with support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
An iPod dock input for Denon’s ASD-51W or ASD-51N Networked Control Docks affords easy iPod playback and streaming of networked audio, and there’s also a front mini-jack input for connecting any other portable audio device (Denon claims the on-board compressed audio restorer “ensures the highest quality playback of compressed music files”).
The front and centre speakers have dual 80mm mid-bass drivers and a 25mm balanced dome tweeter while each of the surround speakers has an 80mm full range driver.
As well as taking the headache out of speaker matching, Denon reckons the compact 100W powered subwoofer can be positioned anywhere.
