New Disney+ Thriller With X Factor

Saint X, a multi-persepctive psychological thriller about a missing woman, will stream on Disney+ from June 7.

Adptated from Alexis Schaitkin’s  novel of the same name, it stars Alycia Debnam-Carey, Josh Bonzie, West Duchovny, Jayden Elijah, Bre Francis, Kenlee Anaya Townsend, Betsy Brandt and Michael Park.

It uses multiple timelines and shifting perspectives to explore and upend the girl-gone-missing genre. Claims the blurb:

It’s a show about how a young woman’s mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.

Leila Gerstein (The Handmaid’s Tale) wrote the eight episodes, which Dee Rees (Mudbound) directed as an ABC Signature production.

Disney+ has released trailers for two other newcomers as well: a kidult adventure and original series The Muppets Mayhem:

Crater (May 12) is a coming-of-age sci-fi adventure about a youngster raised on a lunar mining colony who’s about to be permanently relocated to an idyllic faraway planet following the death of his father — but first he and his three best friends, plus a new arrival from Earth hijack a rover to explore a mysterious crater and fulfil his dad’s last wish.
