New Serial Killer Thriller for Disney+

The new Hulu Original drama series Furious will premiere July 27 on Disney+ with three episodes, followed by new episodes weekly.
It stars Emmy Rossum (Shameless) as an FBI agent on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating female serial killer.
Both walk their own paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur.
The eight-part series is “loosely adapted” from the 1987 psychological thriller Black Widow.
Lola Petticrew, Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine and Jake Lacy co-star.
Furious was created, written and executive produced by Elizabeth Meriwether (Dying for Sex, The Dropout).
She told Entertainment Weekly she became intrigued about “the possibility of exploring the psychology of a female serial killer” after watching Black Widow, which starred Debra Winger as a Justice Department analyst obsessed with catching a woman (Theresa Russell) who marries and then murders wealthy men for financial gain.
“What would lead a woman to become a serial killer? What would have had to have happened in her life? And then, similarly, Who is the woman chasing her? What’s going on in her head?”
EW also quotes Rossum as saying it’s a “very twisty” series.
“I think we are constantly seesawing on whose side we’re on, and I think there’s a lot to dig into.”
