New Star Wars & Avengers Spin-offs

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past is a new “four-piece” animated special from Lucasfilm that will stream on Disney+ from September 19.

It continues the story that began in 2024 with LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. Reads the blurb:

A new threat rises in the galaxy, and Sig and Dev Greebling must combine their powers of Force Building and Sith Breaking to stop it. Alongside Jedi Bob, Yesi Scala, and Servo, they will journey into the deepest corners of LEGO Star Wars lore, uncovering pieces of all the galaxies that have come before.

And what would a LEGO Star Wars prequel be without merchandise to flog? New building sets “inspired” by the special including The Force Burner Snowspeeder and The Dark Falcon.

Another instalment in a Disney+ franchise that will stream from August 27 is Thunderbolts* The New Avengers.

And the most successful Man of Steel movie ever to open in the US, Superman, will hit digital platforms early (at least in North America) to tie in with the season two run of HBO’s Peacemaker.

Deadline reports Superman serves as a precursor for the events of Peacemaker S2, “with the movie’s supporting characters, Green Lantern/Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders (Isabela Merced) and Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn), appearing in a teaser for upcoming episodes.”

Presumably the same synergistic strategy will occur here, where Peacemaker lands on HBO Max on August 22.
