I have got AMC+ free for a week and pay $10 monthly, It’s a good deal with having Shudder included, I watched episode 1 of The 101 Scariest Horror Scenes, it’s a fun watch especially when they talk about how the scene was filmed ?
So Acorn and Shudder have been so spectacularly unsuccessful you can get them for free with AMC+? Disney+ at $13 or AMC+ at $10. So much fragmentation chasing an increasingly constrained wallet.
Thanks for the first impressions, Trevor. I’ve downloaded the app and will explore over the weekend.
Yes, you could argue that, Mike. Another interpretation could be that AMC were testing the streaming waters here with Shudder and Acorn. They were always minnows compared to Netflix, Disney+ and TVNZ+, and initially didn’t even have Smart TV apps. Makes sense to now bundle both with the much stronger AMC+ platform to capitalise on WBD’s HBO Max absence and content-hungry punters willing to give another top-tier service a chance now that Netflix and Disney+ are no longer newcomers. Yes, a tiny market here by international norms but the roll-out is great news for consumers who, even on a budget, can chop-and-change services to enjoy an unprecedented smorgasbord of home entertainnment.
No problems Philip. I’m assuming we will get all of the new releases that everyone else is getting. I notice Jaws is coming up in October ?
