New to Acorn TV in April
The star attraction of Acorn TV’s April premieres will be Irish comedy Finding Joy.
The six-part series follows a single woman (Amy Huberman) searching for happiness in all the wrong places after a painful breakup.
Aisling Bea (The Fall, Hard Sun), Lochlann O’Mearain (Outlander), Jenny Rainsford (Fleabag), Catherine Walker (Acceptable Risk, Versailles), Paul Reid (Vikings) and Mark Doherty (Moone Boy) co-star.
The Washington Post thought it a “delightful and often ribald screwball comedy” but the Irish Independent dubbed it “pretty dreadful … with a dismaying reliance on scatological gags”.
Also new next month on Acorn TV will be seasons 1-3 of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (April 6), S7 of Doc Martin (April 6), S10-15 of A Touch of Frost (April 6), The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (April 13) and S2 of Jack Irish (April 20).
New to the service this month are S1-3 of Rosemary & Thyme, S1-2 of East of Everything, S7-8 of Wild at Heart, The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes, S1-3 of Miranda (March 23), S2-3 of Janet King (March 23) and S1-2 of Liverpool 1 (March 30).
