New to Acorn TV in July
Norwegian crime drama Outlier will stream exclusively next month on Acorn TV.
The female-led series is set in the brutal Artic wilderness, where an academic who profiles serial killers heads to help solve the murder of a young woman in her home town.
It presented the producers a unique creative challenge: shooting eight 45-minute episodes of high-quality drama in the remote Arctic and delivering the entire series within four months — despite COVID-19.
Other highlights include the coming-of-age 2017 BBC production about growing up Punjabi in Wolverhampton, The Boy With the Topknot, and the 2020 telemovie, Agatha Christie: 100 Years of Poirot and Miss Marple.
The latter analyses Christie through 10 of her greatest works and includes footage from many of the classic dramas based on her novels whilst talking heads loosely explain the plot.
