New to Acorn TV in July

Irish crime drama Hidden Assets will stream exclusively on Acorn TV from July 11.

It stars Angeline Ball (The Commitments, The General) as a detective in the Irish Criminal Assets Bureau who joins forces with the Police Commissioner (Wouter Hendrickx) to unravel a political conspiracy fuelling domestic unrest for financial gain.

“We see signs from the first moments that it’ll be twisty and keep our interest, even if there isn’t a tonne of character development,” was Decider’s verdict on the seven-part 2021 production.

The Guardian thought it “gritty” while another UK critic likened it to “Line of Duty meets The Bridge“.

Also new next month will be S3 of another exclusive, The Sommerdahl Murders (July 4), and a slew of back-catalogue titles:
