New to Amazon Prime Video in July

Next month Amazon Prime Video will add season two of Hanna, the world premiere of the movie The Very Excellent Mr Dundee, and a slew of top TV series, ranging from Frasier and The X-Files to Sons of Anarchy and Homeland.

The Very Excellent Mr Dundee was to have been released theatrically in April. But because the COVID-19 lockdown closed cinemas, it now will premiere exclusively on APV in NZ and Australia.

It stars iconic Aussie larrikin Paul Hogan as a fictionalised but still controversial version of himself who tries to stay out of the headlines for six weeks so he can accept a knighthood for his services to comedy.

The cast includes a swag of the ‘Crocodile’ Dundee star’s contemporaries, including John Cleese, Chevy Chase and Olivia Newton-John. (Watch the official trailer here.)

The second season of Hanna follows the titular heroine (Esmé Creed-Miles) as she evades the relentless pursuit of the sinister Utrax organisation and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.

Following her discovery at the end of season one, she risks her freedom to rescue her friend Clara (Yasmin Monet Prince) from the clutches of the Utrax programme with the unlikely help of her previous nemesis, CIA agent Marissa Wiegler (Mireille Enos). (Watch the official trailer here.)

Also new in July will be the final two episodes of LOL: Last One Laughing, Indian crime drama Breathe: Into the Shadows, two more entries in the Fast & Furious franchise, and a bonanza of binge-worthy TV shows, mostly from the 20th Century Fox library.
