New to Amazon Prime Video in May

Amazon Prime Video has still to confirm if it will add The Expanse to its NZ service ahead of streaming season four globally.

Originally, it announced NZ would be among the territories to stream S1-3 of the axed Syfy series after it picked up the rights when it commissioned a fourth season.

But this was nixed when it turned out Lightbox’s streaming rights and Sky’s linear rights hadn’t expired. However, now that they have there should be nothing blocking The Expanse’s debut here on APV.

It’s also not known when S3 of The Good Fight will land here but chances are it will be in June given it’s played out in the US  — unless, of course, streaming service CBS All Access has opted to retain the rights for when it launches here (which has been speculated as being year’s end).

APV did the same with original commissions that previously streamed or aired here on other services until the platform’s NZ launch.

In the meantime, here’s what’s confirmed for APV this month:

Good Omens (May 31): The end of the world is coming, which means a fussy Angel (Michael Sheen) and a loose-living Demon (David Tennant) who’ve become overly fond of life on Earth are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon. But they have lost the Antichrist, an 11-year-old boy unaware he’s meant to bring upon the end of days, forcing them to embark on an adventure to find him and save the world before it’s too late. Sneaky Pete (S3, May 10): All the members of the Sneaky Pete family explore their identities; their purpose; where they belong; where they’re going. It’s a dangerous journey. They could lose themselves, or worse – lose their lives. (View the trailer here.)

Fleabag (S2, May 17): Joyful, bleak, poignant, and sucker-punch funny, the original cast is joined by a car-crash of new characters as we delve further into the world of Fleabag. With hope and faith at the core of season two, our heroine finds herself in the midst of a battle she is determined to win: Fleabag vs God. (View the trailer here.)
