Halloween comes early to Amazon Prime Video next month, with the streamer premiering the latest Walking Dead franchise, four new spinetinglers from Blumhouse Television, a supernatural romp from Shaun of the Dead’s Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and season two of NOS4A2.
Welcome to the Blumhouse comprises four movies that present a “unique perspective on common themes centred around family and love as redemptive or destructive forces” (see the trailer here).
The Lie (October 6) concerns two desperate parents whose attempt to cover up their daughter’s horrific crime ensures them in a web of lies and deception. Mireille Enos (The Killing), Peter Sarsgaard (An Education) and Joey King (The Kissing Booth 2, The Act) star.

The eight-part Truth Seekers (October 30) stars Pegg ands Frost as part-time paranormal investigators who film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures for all to see.
Their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly as they uncover a cult leader’s mass conspiracy to sacrifice his unwitting followers to achieve immortality.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond (weekly from October 2) expands the TWD universe by delving into a new mythology about the first generation raised in the post-apocalyptic world.
“At the very least we might expect World Beyond to look a little different to the previous shows,” C|Net said. “But no: it’s another road trip through the dusty roads and leafy forests of rural America.”
However, Variety thought it “an effective look at life after apocalypse”. (See the trailer here.)
