New to AMC+ Etc in June

Exclusive to AMC+ in June is the new season of Interview With the Vampire, which has been retitled The Vampire Lestat (June 7) to reflect it’s an adaptation of the second book in Anne Rice’s Gothic saga.
It will be complemented by the companion series, The Vampire Lestat: After Dark, which takes fans behind the scenes of each weekly episode.
Expect interviews with both the cast and crew, including Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, executive producer Mark Johnson, and executive producer and showrunner Rolin Jones.
Reads the S3 blurb:
In the new rock and roll centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by “muses” from his wild and rebellious past. As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population.
Also new is the vodcast series, I Think You’re Overthinking It (May 31), in which comedian Chris Hardwick focuses on pop culture, movies, TV, music, comedy and more, “all through the lens of overthinking”:
The deep-dive, free-flowing conversations explore the intersection of personal hobbies, life lessons, and the obsessive side of fandom—all while attempting to navigate the beautiful, neurotic mess of overthinking everything.
Weekly guests include Billy Magnussen (The Audacity), Alison Brie (Glow), Nathan Fillion (The Rookie), Jason Ritter (Matlock) and Eli Roth.
Another unscripted newcomer, This is Poly, explores the real lives of modern polyamorous relationships. The eight-part series will roll out weekly until its July 17 finale.
Acorn TV launches S5 of whodunit Harry Wild with a double-ep (June 22) while new to Shudder are the original movies:
- Smothered (May 29), in which an amnesiac artist doubts the identity of an old woman claiming to be his mother
- Find Your Friends (June 12), in which a girls trip goes awry in a malevolent small town
- The Voices of Our Mother (June 19), in which a matriarch’s death unleashes supernatural retributrion on her kin.

AMC+ needs to consider its economics – IWTV was so wooden and unengaging it’s hard to believe that S3 was greenlit. Surely there has to be better prospects being pitched by showrunners. — Mike.
