New to AMC+ Etc in March

If you’ve just discovered the first three seasons of neo-Western Dark Winds on Netflix, S4 is now streaming exclusively on AMC+.

It focuses on the search for a missing Navajo girl that leads Navajo Nation cops Leaphorn, Chee and Manuelito to gritty ’70s Los Angeles, where they try to save her from an obsessive killer with ties to organised crime.

“We changed it up this season,” Zahn McClarnon (Leaphorn) told Variety.

“It’s gotten some more action, some deeper mysteries. We’re trying to add some supernatural elements.”

“While the fourth season of Dark Winds is taking a chance by going off the rez, seeing Leaphorn, Chee and Manuelito facing big changes brings interesting context to what might be normally be considered a standard police thriller case,” Decider said.

Other top critics agreed, as did AMC+, which already has renewed Dark Winds for S5.

Also new to AMC+ this month are S3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (March 7), joining last month’s S7&8 premieres of Fear the Walking Dead, and S8 of Mama June: From Not to Hot (March 13).

Whodunit fans can stream S3 of Hidden Assets (March 3) and S5 of My Life is Murder (March 23) if they’ve already binged last month’s Acorn TV newcomers The Field of Blood, the Sally Lindsay thriller Too Close, and S3 of Under the Vines.

Shudder exclusives for March include three originals: the movies Bodycam (March 13) and The Mortuary Assistant (March 27), and the documentary, 1000 Women in Horror (March 20), which is billed as “a deep dive into how women pioneers revolutionised horror cinema through their groundbreaking work as directors, actors and creators since 1895, leaving an indelible mark on the genre’s evolution”.
