New to AMC+ Etc in May

Season two of Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire will see the light of day virtually at the same time on AMC+ and TVNZ+.

It streams from May 12 on the former and from May 13 on the latter; the TVNZ+ picture quality will be better (1080p v 720p) but the AMC+ stream will be ad-free.  Reads the blurb:

Picking up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia (Delainey Hayles) conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia. It is in Paris that Louis first meets the Vampire Armand (Assad Zaman). Their courtship and love affair will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, and Molloy will probe to get to the truths buried within the memories.

Also new — exclusively — to AMC+  are a new episode of Off Script with The Hollywood Reporter (May 24) and S2 of In the Kitchen with Harry Hamlin (May 15), with guests like Lisa Rinna (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Ted Danson (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Mary Steenburgen (Book Club), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Tongayi Chirisa (Anne Rice’s MayfairWitches) and Ed Begley Jr. (Better Call Saul)

Coming to AMC+ sister service Acorn TV are a S23 binge of Midsomer Murders (May 6), S3 of Wild Harry (May 13), and The Truth (May 27), an Israeli thriller about the verdict in a controversial murder case being delivered the same day an identical murder occurs.

And premiering on AMC+ horror service Shudder are:

Skeletons in the Closet (May 3): a desperate mother allows herself to become possessed to save the life of her terminally-ill daughter-in-law (Cuba Gooding Jr and Terrance Howard star)

Nightwatch: Demons are Forever (May 17): in this belated sequel to the 1994 Danish classic (which streams from the same day), serial killer Wörmer comes out of his coma (Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau stars)
