New to Blu: February 15-21

This week’s Blu-ray slate is scarcely worth a second glance, with a direct-to-disc release being the most prominent of the three.

The Double is a low-budget conspiracy thriller starring Richard Gere, Topher Grace and Martin Sheen.

“I was very impressed with The Double’s video presentation.

“I wasn’t expecting much from it given the movie’s low-budget origins, but this is one good looking Blu-ray.

“If it wasn’t for the slightly oversaturated colours, and a few crushing shadows, this Blu-ray would be worthy of five stars.”

“The 2.40:1 AVC HD image is sharp and crystal clear for the majority of the film.”

The week’s only other new Blu-ray releases are Through the Wormhole: Season 2, in which Morgan Freeman ponders the cosmos, and Owl City: Live From Los Angeles.
