New to Blu: May 13-19

Virtually all of this week’s releases are direct-to-disc, most of which are obscure thrillers barely worth renting:

• The Captive (“technical merits are generally very strong“)
• Everly (“the video has some issues, but the audio is fantastic”)
• Open Windows (“black levels are quite good, and colour has been solidly maintained”)
• Redirected (“video is good, except for being in the incorrect aspect ratio“)
• The Lookalike (“doesn’t have the ‘pop’ of the most perfect transfers, but it’s definitely watchable“)
• The Riot Club
• Honour
• Coherence
• The New Neighbour.

Being dusted off on Blu-ray for the first time here are People Under the Stairs (“the best the film has ever looked on home video”) and Farscape – The Peacekeeper Wars.

New anime titles include The Tale Of The Princess Kaguya, Ben-to Series Collection, Log Horizon – Part Two and Sankarea: Undying Love Complete Collection while from WWE are The Road is Jericho and Wrestlemania 31.
