New to Blu: November 20 – 26

Angel Has Fallen

➢ “Angel Has Fallen isn’t a colourful film. However, its cooler chromatic hues, sepia tones and variants of blue/red benefited from UHD’s wider colour gamut, appearing warmer and pleasing to the eye …  I felt that this Ultra HD rendering made the most of the film’s elements, which are excellent.” — AVSForum.

➢ “Much like its predecessors, Angel Has Fallen is presented in a 2.39:1 AVC HD image that’s darn near perfect … It’s a rock solid transfer and one that’s indicative of a new to Blu-ray film. More impressive is the Dolby Atmos soundtrack.” — Blu-ray Authority.

➢ “This is a largely sharp and extremely well detailed looking presentation, albeit one that is often swathed in what I might term ‘thriller blue’ … Despite a number of aggressively graded sequences and other scenes that take place in near darkness, fine detail is generally very commendable throughout.” — Blu-ray.com.

10 Minutes Gone

➢ “The digitally shot film is sufficiently crisp and clean, with a fairly neutral look to it outside of a cool blue tinge to some of the daylight scenes. Facial details and backdrops are appropriately detailed, and the little nuances along the craggy faces are more than revealing.” — AV Nirvana.

✽ Also new are Young Guns II and Fearless.
