New to Blu: November 7 – 13

The Spy Who Dumped Me

➢ “This is for the most part a really brightly coloured and well detailed looking presentation, one that offers consistently very good to excellent levels of fine detail, and which preserves an often extremely vivid palette. A number of scenes are either graded or lit to various extremes … but most of the time detail levels remain consistently high.” — Blu-ray.com.

➢ “Both the 2.39:1 1080p AVC video and Dolby Atmos audio track are predictably impressive for a 2018 disc of a 2018 movie. The movie places a significant emphasis on serious action, and the resulting sound mix is quite exciting, with lots of gunfights, car chases, and explosions rendered with excellent immersiveness and fidelity. The picture is sharp and colourful.” — DVD Talk.

Spinning Man

➢ “The photography is rather strange, with a very VERY heavy green and blue filter (one that REALLY is pushed towards the green end of the color spectrum) and it is done so strongly that I felt like I was in the middle of The Matrix Reloaded! Colours are a bit sallow as a result, but saturation level is good and there are some splashes of primary colours here or there … Black levels are good and fine details can range from good to stunning.” — AV Nirvana.

➢ “Spinning Man appears in an aspect ratio of approximately 2.40:1 on this Blu-ray disc. Though not great, the image was more than watchable. For the most part, sharpness worked fine, but exceptions concerned. These occurred mainly during interiors, as those could be a little soft. Still, most of the film brought out satisfactory delineation.” — DVD Movie Guide.

● Also new are Dragon Ball Z Remastered Uncut: Complete Collection and Granblue Fantasy: The Animation Vol. 2 (eps 8-12).
