From Sex Education writer Sophie Goodhart cookies the award-winning “wrong-com” Alice and Steve starring Jemaine Clement and Nicola walker (The Split, Unforgotten).
They play platonic pals whose friendship turns into a feud when Steve starts dating Alice’s 26-year-old daughter.
It won best series as well as two other awards last month at Cannesseries, where Goodhart said” “I love comedy that makes you squirm a little. It’s definitely my sweet spot.
“My dream would be for people to come away from the show being less judgmental.”
Also new are workplace comedy Not Suitable for Work (June 2), the fifth and final season of The Bear (June 26), the premiere of blockbuster Avatar: Fire and Ash (June 24) and a live stream of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival (June 12-15), a four-day camping and music festival in Manchester, Tennessee.
Another live must-see is Wimbledon on ESPN from June 29.
There’s also you’re first chance to view The X-Files: I Want to Believe – Director’s Cut, the horror-infused version of the 2008 movie that creator-director Christ Carter wanted to release.
