New to Disney+ in October

The third and final season of Reservation Dogs, a reo Māori version of Coco, the return of Loki and the premiere of Stephen King’s latest excursion in terror head October’s highlights on Disney+.

The Boogeyman (October 5) is named after a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on a family grieving the loss of the mother.

Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets), Chris Messina (Birds of Prey), Vivien Lyra Blair (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Madison Hu (Bizaardvark), LisaGay Hamilton (Vice) and David Dastmalchian (Dune) star.

Also in time for Hallowe’en is the series premiere of Goosebumps (October 13), an adaptation of the RL Stine books about five high school students investigating the tragic death 30 years earlier of another teenager.

And fans of foreign language drama can anticipate Nothing (October 11), an Argentine drama about a sophisticated and provocative Buenos Aires food critic’s relationship with a young woman from Paraguay, and The Lions of Sicily (October 24), an eight-part family saga that spans 60 years in the 1800s.

Other highlights include: Bobi Wine: The People’s President (October 6), a “shocking look” at the Ugandan pop star’s presidential campaign; Trap Jazz (October 6), an “insightful docu-film” chronicling the origins of a new musical genre; live-action magna series My Home Hero S1 (October 24); and Sound of the Police (October 13), which examines the fraught relationship between African Americans and the police;
