New to Lightbox in September
Lightbox will stream the latest seasons of Mr Mercedes and The Good Doctor weekly from mid-late September while Downton Abbey fans will be able to binge on all six seasons before seeing the movie.
Season three of Mr Mercedes has Bill Hodges (Brendan Gleeson) tracking down the killer of a beloved author.
Whereas S1 of Mr Mercedes covered the first book in Stephen King’s trilogy, S2 jumped ahead to the third, End of Watch, and S3 adapts characters and storylines from the other instalment, Finders Keepers.
As a result, expect a few new characters to shake up Hodges’ world.
S3 will stream Wednesdays from September 11 and S3 of The Good Doctor Tuesdays from September 24.
Also new to Lightbox from September 19 will be S1 of A.P. Bio, a comedy about a disgraced Harvard professor who uses his class of honour roll students at an Ohio high school to get back at the people in his life who have wronged him.
Keeping Faith (September 3), which originally screened on the Rialto Channel, is set in Welsh seaside town where a successful lawyer, loving wife and devoted mother discovers that much of what she thought she knew about her missing husband was a lie.
Rush (September 17) stars Lucifer’s Tom Ellis as a “medical fixer” who privately caters to the elite of Los Angeles for a hefty price tag who has no desire to change his life until an old flame and his conscience begin to stir things up.
The box set of Downton Abbey will stream from September 13, the day after the movie opens, and S6 of The Goldbergs from September 16.
Lightbox also is picking up The Arrangement (S1 from September 24) and kids’ sketch comedy show OMG! (S1 from September 20).
