New to Neon in April
Sharon Horgan’s new comedy Dreamland will stream on Neon from April 6.
It’s based on the Catastrophe/Bad Sisters star/creator’s BAFTA-winning short of the same name about “secrets, lies, loves and aspirations within a family of four sisters.” Reads the blurb:
Set in the sun-drenched British seaside town of Margate, it is a dark comedic exploration of multi-generational female relationships, and their (somewhat dysfunctional) family dynamics.
Lily Allen, Freema Agyeman, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Gabby Best, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Frances Barber and Sheila Reid star.
Love & Death (April 28) is HBO’s take on the Disney+ true-crime dramatisation Candy.
The David E Kelley series is based on the case of a Texas housewife, Candy Montgomery, who was accused of killing her friend Betty Gore with an axe in 1980.
Elizabeth Olsen and Lily Rabe star in the roles Jessica Biel and Melanie Lynskey played in Candy.
Other highlights include the fourth and final season of Barry (April 17), George & Tammy (April 4), Quantum Leap (April 18), Dave S3 (April 8) and All American: Homecoming S2 (April 25).
Spearheading the movie premieres are Ticket to Paradise, Smile and Three Thousand Years of Longing.
