New to Neon in December
Perhaps buoyed by the burgeoning popularity of Yellowstone, Sky’s Neon service will stream all six seasons of another hit modern western, Longmire, from December 19.
It used to be a staple of Netflix, which resurrected the drama about a Wyoming sheriff after A&E opted not to renew it for a fourth season.
However, the 2012-17 series is no longer available to stream on Netflix NZ, which is a pity as the latter seasons were in 4K whereas all of Neon’s will be limited to HD.
The rest of Neon’s December debuts will include S2 of Gossip Girl (December 2), S3 of His Dark Materials (December 6), S2 of Chucky (December 9) and S2 of The Cleaning Lady (December 28).
Also new will the docuseries Shaq (December 18), an HBO take on basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, and Branson (December 26), which goes behind the headlines of billionaire Sir Richard Branson’s life.
Other TV highlights will include: Aussie celebrity chef comedy Aftertaste (December 1); kids’ ‘toons Paw Patrol (S7a, December 2) and Deer Squad (December 7); Unveiled: Surviving La Luz del Mondo (December 11), which explores the horrifying, yet relatively unknown story of the Christian church; pro-wrestling expose Dark Side of the Ring: After Dark (December 14); S8d of Catfish: The TV Show (December 23); and Chasing Famous (December 30), an “unfiltered dive” into Gen Z social influencers.
New movies include include The Batman, Morbius, The Northman, Dog, and the Harry Potter and Back to the Future franchises.
