New to Neon in February

Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber (February 28)

Seven-part Showtime drama about one of Silicon Valley’s most successful and destructive start-ups, focusing on the hard-hitting CEO’s tumultuous relationship with his mentor.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kyle Chandler and Uma Thurman star in the first instalment of an anthology series that will explore a story that shook the business world and changed the fabric of our culture.

Raised by Refugees (February 25)

Kiwi comedy about a part-Pakistani, part-Iranian 12-year-old obsessed with hip-hop, basketball, girls and Eddie Murphy growing up in Auckland just after 9/11.

The bilingual series from comedian Pax Assadi also is destined for Prime TV.

The Girl Before (February 13)

BBC1-HBOMax original about a woman who moves into an enigmatic architect’s minimalist masterpiece and must abide by his exacting rules – or risk the same fate of her predecessor three years earlier.

Loki’s Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jessica Plummer and David Oyelowo star in the four-part psychological thriller based on JP Delaney’s 2018 best-seller.

Radio Times dubbed it “a pressure cooker drama with standout lead performances” while The Times thought it “quite intriguing …it felt fresh, the dialogue wasn’t toe-curling and the performances have drawn me in.”

Also new will be:

  • the HBOMax docuseries about the founding of the LGBTQ+ movement, Equal (February 1)
  • the network TV disaster drama series about an LA sinkhole that leads to a primeval world, La Brea (February 9)
  • The Vibe channel drama about the powerful banking dynasty that ruled the 15th-century Renaissance, Medici: The Magnificent (February 16)
  • Ravi Patel’s Pursuit of Happiness, in which the actor and humanitarian investigates societal norms around the world (February 23).

SoHo’s Landscapers, the strange but true story of a mild-mannered librarian and accounts clerk who went on the run for 15 years after murdering her parents, starring Olivia Colman and David Thewlis, will stream from February 21.
