New to Neon in May
Neon will stream the NZ premiere of new CW series In the Dark from May 11.
It went to air in the US on April 4 and stars Perry Mattfield (Shameless ) as a hard-drinking hard-living blind woman who investigates the apparent murder of her friend.
US reviews were mixed. They ranged from “a good show with a lot of promise, and it deserves to be seen and not buried, burned off, or overlooked” (TV Guide) to: “may have started with the kernel of a good idea, only to get so larded up with embellishments and misguided genre detours that the actual show is watchable mostly with a sense of incredulity” (The Hollywood Reporter).
Neon’s also picked up the Viceland reality series about New York’s queer vogue ballroom scene, My House, and the behind-the-scenes documentary, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch.
GoT continues to be the most streamed attraction on Neon, followed by Grey’s Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, Paw Patrol and The Flash.
Other Neon newcomers will include the SoHo series:
- Chernobyl (weekly from May 7)
- Cheat (from May 19)
- Waco (from May 23)
- Sweetbitter (from May 29)
- Sally4Ever (from May 31).
And returning for new runs will be season three of The Bold Type (weekly from May 10), S4 of iZombie (from May 16), and S5 of The Last Ship (from May 25).
Movie premieres will include Incredibles 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Blackkklansman and Johnny English Strikes Again.
