New to Neon in October
Next month Sky’s streaming service Neon will premiere the reboot of ’90s supernatural hit Charmed.
New episodes of the witches-and-warlocks series will be available weekly from October 15, the same day as its broadcast on The CW Network.
It also will go on Sky On Demand and is likely to wind up on one of Sky’s linear channels.
But if you want to see it first — and in HD — you’ll need to subscribe to Neon.
The Hollywood Reporter says the new Charmed follows a similar story to the original show.
It’s focused on three sisters who are unlocking their powers as witches. It is not connected to the original series — at least not yet. Exec producer Jennie Snyder Urman says she’s open to making a connection down the line — “There’s always multiverses; you never know” — but there’s been no contact yet with the earlier show’s cast.
The revival stars Melonie Diaz (The Belko Experiment), Sarah Jeffery (Wayward Pines) and Madeleine Mantock (Into the Badlands), and is one of a slew of series that Neon will premiere in October.
It also will stream weekly episodes of mission-to-Mars drama The First (from October 4), season two of Snowflake (from October 22) and season six of Ray Donovan (from October 29).
And if you don’t want to endure the latest seasons of The Flash, Supergirl, DC Legends of Tomorrow and Supernatural in SD on Sky 5, they, too, can be streamed weekly in HD.
Other TV highlights include season four of Casual (from October 11), the first seasons go Steven Universe (from October 4), Motherland (from October 27) and Instinct (from October 30), seasons 1-2 of The Brokenwood Mysteries (from October 4) and season 1-8 of Entourage (from October 19).
Movie premieres include Coco, Ferdinand, The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature, Paddington 2, Bad Moms 2 and The Greatest Showman.
Streaming in order of their debut will be:
